Osnovna škola "Mato Lovrak" Nova Gradiška

We were among the first in our town to introduce information technology to our school. We are equally dedicated to professional training of our teachers as well as to supplying equipment for our information technology classroom. All the classrooms and offices in central school have computers with accesss to the Internet. In our information technology classroom there are 18 computers. There is also a copying machine in a separate room together with a computer and a printer. There is a TV set, a video recorder and a DVD player in every classroom. We often organize sports competitions for our students and in consequence they have become more successful in school and the discipline has improved. Students are involved in many sports activities led by our PE teachers. There are also some sport clubs training in our gym from 7.15 p.m. till 10 p.m. every day. We also provide facilities for the folk dance group «Trenk» whose residence is in our school. They have rehearsals twice a week and regular meetings. Their costumes are stored in our school. The most important is that the youngest members come from our school. We also have acrobatic rock'n'roll dancing school. It's very popular with lower grade students. This rising new generation of dancers is likely to make dancing extremely popular among other students.

We believe that the achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual and that team work is very important. Our teachers build their team spirit while socializing and enjoying themselves on World Teachers' Day, School's anniversary celebration day, end of school staff meetings and field trips to Strmac.
Our staff members have been to Slovenia and Hrvatsko Zagorje, Hungary, The Chech Republic, Austria and seen the towns of Sarajevo and Vienna. We have been to museums, theatres and opera house in Zagreb.
