All behaviour in defiance of public conventions and regulations , no matter what kind or how big, must be treated as violence. Let's have as little as possible by trying to be tolerant and civil to each other.
The purpose of this program is to prevent violence in school as it should be a safe place for both teachers and students. It is important to:
-make society sensitive and aware of problems caused by violence
-involve teachers and parents in the program
-make clear rules against abuse
-support and protect the victim
-reduce bullying in and out of school and prevent other problems
-integrate this program into school curriculum
-work together with parents, Social care service and local community
-promote all kinds of sports and other creative activities
Here are some examples of the violence prevention program:
- there are school subjects which have topics related to violence
- our teachers and students are monitoring school premises during breaks
- we have eco-patrols and video surveillance
- we make rules against violence, e.g. «We won't abuse others», « We won't accept violent behaviour and we'll prevent it»
- during staff meetings teachers analyze students' behaviour and commend , punish or reward students
- the names of good and bad students are made public
- exibitions of students' work, making posters, writing messages, organizing pedagogical workshops: Appreciating differences, Tolerance, Non-violent conflict resolution, Develop self-esteem and responsibility, Affirmation of human rights and positive values, Non-violence education
- organizing students' free time by involving them into different curricular and extracurricular activities
In conclusion, students' behaviour is showing promising results due to all these projects. We think it is important to create an honest and tolerant environment and to encourage acceptance, respect and understanding for others.
